The Gladney Center for Adoption Presents:
Foster Adoption 101 Training
Overview:
Thinking about foster adoption? This video guide from the Gladney Center for Adoption offers an informative introduction for individuals and families considering adopting through the U.S. foster care system. You’ll learn about the step-by-step process—from information sessions and home studies to matching, placement, and finalization—as well as the needs of children who are waiting for permanent, loving families. Many of these children are older, part of sibling groups, or have experienced trauma and need stability, care, and connection. The video highlights how Gladney supports families with trauma-informed education, counseling services, and lifelong post-adoption support.

Thinking About Adopting from Foster Care?
Gladney’s Q&A video explains how families in Texas or Oklahoma can adopt through the New Beginnings program. We focus on finding loving homes for children who can’t return to their birth families—especially older children and sibling groups.
The process is free and includes training, a home study, and expert support every step of the way. Families must be open to adopting at least one child aged 0–10, ideally older or part of a sibling group.
Learn about the foster care system, the adoption journey, and how Gladney supports you with resources, training, and matching services. Adopted children receive Medicaid, subsidies, and tuition assistance for state colleges.
